Vein Treatment

Not happy with how your legs look? A simple, safe and effective solution to problem veins, by injecting a sclerosing solution directly into the vein causing it to collapse…

ClearScan™

What is ClearScan and what does it treat?

Sciton’s ClearScan  Nd:YAG (1064 nm wavelength) is the latest treatment for vascular lesions from telangiectasias to leg and facial veins. The ClearScan proprietary tip is designed to effectively reduce small veins and redness quickly with virtually no downtime. ND:YAG is now being used to treat Onychomycosis (toenail fungus).

ClearScan treats

  • benign vascular lesions, broken capillaries
  • rosacea, port wine stains, hemangiomas
  • telangiectasia, rosacea, redness
  • leg veins and spider veins
  • toenail fungus, warts

How does it work?

A small handpiece guided precisely over the area to be treated, pulses energy using the ND:YAG 1064 nm wavelength onto the skin

The 1064 nm wavelength has strong absorption in oxyhemoglobin within broken capillaries, veins, and vascular lesions. This results in selective heating and clearing of veins with excellent clinical results. The powerful contact cooling enables treatments to be safe and comfortable for all skin types and tanned skin.

What to expect during treatment?

  • If necessary makeup and contact lens will be removed
  • Photos will be taken
  • Treatment will generally take a few minutes to an hour depending on the size of the area treated
  • Safety glasses will be worn to protect the eyes

As the handpiece is moved around the treated area you will hear a rapid succession of pulsing sounds and will feel a sense of heat and a slight snapping on the skin.

Very little discomfort is felt and the treatment is relatively fast.

How much downtime?

Minimal downtime and you can resume your daily activities immediately after the treatment.

Avoid direct sun exposure for 1-2 weeks and when going outdoors always protect your skin with sunblock.

Any post-treatment redness will fade with time.

What areas can be treated?

Face, neck, chest, hands, arms, and legs.

How many treatments are required?

Face: 1- 2 treatments minimum are required, 2-3 weeks apart.

Legs: 2-3 treatments, 8 weeks apart

Toenails: 2-4 treatments, 2-4 weeks apart

What is the required post care?

It is important to follow the clinician’s post care advice following the treatment to achieve results you desire.

You will be sensitive to UV light and must avoid direct sun exposure until completely healed from a treatment. Once the exposed skin has healed you will need a good quality full spectrum sunscreen.

Discuss with our esthetician skin care products and sunscreen that will best suit your needs.
